Verb Types

Godan (Group 1)

End in an “u-row” kana (う/く/ぐ/す/つ/ぬ/ぶ/む/る). The last kana changes.

Ichidan (Group 2)

Often end in る after an i/e sound. Drop る, then add suffix.

Irregular (Group 3)

する, 来る, and the いく te/ta exception.
